At First Baptist Church Perth, we believe that fellowship is an essential part of the Christian faith.
We offer a number of different activities and events throughout the week that provide an opportunity to connect with others and form meaningful relationships.
Whether it’s attending a Bible study group, participating in a youth group, or just enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, you’ll always find a warm and welcoming atmosphere at First Baptist Church Perth.
Here at F.B.C. Perth our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and teaching them to obey all that Christ commands. We have a vision to create an excellent and unforgettable worship experience each week of the year for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). To this end, each worship service will inspire, influence, and involve everyone present.
Our journey is supernatural. We depend upon God, through prayer, to guide us as we walk by faith.
We live out our faith with passions. We're excited about Jesus and refuse to become complacent, lukewarm, bitter. We're more interested in the future than the past because life is short and our destiny is eternal. Our God is great and so we cast our cares on Him and seize each day.
God is generous towards us, and so we strive to be generous to others. We don't count the cost.
The Bible is our anchor, our light, our compass. We are intensely interested in growing deeper in our Bible knowledge and application. We seek to "be" and "do" like Jesus.
Families matter to God, and so they matter to us. We are intentional in fostering a culture in which all ages can worship together, side-by-side.
We are interested not just in who we are trying to keep, but in who we are trying to reach. We will get out of our comfort zones to share God's love with our neighbours because they matter to us.
We are always better together. The church is at its best when everyone has a part to play and utilizes their talents and passions for the glory of God. Everyone is a "Minister" at F.B.C.
We seek to love our neighbours as ourselves on all occasions. And so we seek to put our faith in action in ways that are relevant, practical, and that meet felt needs. We care deeply about widows, orphans, and justice as per Micah 6.
We are a small church with a big heart. Because we are small, we have narrowed our focus to do fewer things in order to make a greater impact. We evaluate ministries regularly to assess results against goals.
F.B.C. is an evangelical church within the Christian denomination of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec. There is a saying, "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything."
The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God are divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless humanity, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing mediatory work, and personal return in power and glory.
The salvation of lost and sinful humanity is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, received by faith apart from works, and is characterized by regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The Church, the body of Christ, consists of all true believers-with the Baptist component of His body practicing Believer's Baptism as the initiating ordinance and Communion/The Lord's Supper as the continuing ordinance in their local churches.
Ultimately, God will judge the living and the dead; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to recive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and, on profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
We will endeavour therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this Church in knowledge, holiness and service, to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine, to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the Ministry, the expenses of the Church its efforts against sin and injustice in the world, the help of the needy and the spread of the Gospel throughout all nations.
We also will endeavour to cultivate the devotional life, to educate our children in the knowledge and practice of our faith, to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances, to walk uprightly in the world, to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment, and to be zealous in our effort to advance the Kingdom of God.
We will endeavour further to watch over one another in Christian love, to remember each other in prayer, to aid each other in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offence, always ready for reconciliation and in all things mindful of the teaching and example of our Saviour.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will as soon as possible unite with some other Church where we can carry out the spirit of this Covenant, and the principles of God’s Word.
